I started benchmarking out of necessity.
At Demandware, I worked alongside an all-star team of e-commerce pros. To keep up with my colleagues and provide value to our customers, I turned to our data; shopper insights from across the platform. We knew the complete shopper journey.
From this, the benchmarking practice was born.
Every brand leader wanted to know, "How am I doing?" and "What should I do next?" Benchmarks became our go-to-market strategy.
Soon, I launched the Demandware Shopping Index, now the Salesforce Shopping Index.
A few years later, I created Leading Lights to help commerce and martech companies build their benchmarks.
Since 2021, we’ve worked with dozens of great companies to show what they know and to prove their value.
